Kahana
is along the famous northwestern Maui coastline, near the Kapalua-West Maui Airport. The town of Kahana is a little more upscale than the neighboring communities of Honokowai and Mahinahina, with its newer high-rise condominiums, shops and restaurants. You will find Maui's busiest resorts along this historic stretch of coastline. And, you will find all of the usual beach activities in the Kahana area, such as snorkeling, diving, surfing, sailing, ocean kayaking, windsurfing and more. World class golf is just a short drive away at Kaanapali Beach and Kapalua. Other non-beach activities include horseback riding, biking and hiking to waterfalls. Just 8 miles south of Kahana is the old-time whaling town of Lahaina, with its many colorful shops, art galleries and restaurants. Take a sunset dinner cruise, or walk along the beach in moonlight. Kahana, along Maui's scenic West Coast meets all your expectations for a tropical paradise - perfect white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, bright exotic flowers and turquoise sea!

Kahana Weather & Climate

The north shore of Oahu has a subtropical climate with prevailing northeasterly trade winds, which are a dominant factor that governs Oahu's pleasant climate. The trade winds are consistent in summer months, and in combination with the warm temperatures gives Oahu and all of Hawaii great conditions for sailing, boating and other outdoor recreational activities. Oahu has two mountain ranges that separate the wet "windward" side from the drier "leeward" coast. The Koolau Mountains extend along the northeastern side and to the west lies the Waianae Mountains. Showers occur almost daily on the windward side, while on the leeward said, showers are light. Even on the moist windward side, showers occur most frequently during evening hours. Occasionally the trade winds shut down and it can become hot and humid. It is rare, however, for weather to become severe enough to interfere with outdoor plans.
